Hello,

I have a Solaris9 machine and I already configure the system according to oracle spec. I had copy the 3 CDs source into the machine. I want to install Oracle9iR2.

I already change the 3 folder disk1, disk2, and disk3 owner to user oracle and group dba. I even change the chmod 777 to runInstaller.

But everytime I ./runInstaller, cannot execute messege come out. It doesn't matter the user is oracle or root. Same error.

Could anyone give me some guidelines? This is the first time I try to install Oracle on unix using hard disk source.

Thank you.

it sounds like an environment issue. Download the latest version of InstallPrep from metalink. The attached one may be a bit outdated...

Hello Andrew,

Yes, using NetSarang. Thanks for the attachment. I don't have access to metalink since they change the system.

Regards,

How did you copy the files from cd to the server?

Did you insert the cd's into the server or did you use a windows pc to 'ftp' them across?
