Here are some:
- Archiver stuck if archlog destination reaches 0% free - backup more frequently or write script to start backup, i.e. at 20% free/ 80% used.
- Ensure backups run after hours or when the database is not as busy.
- Ensure a RMAN catalog is used and that the catalog is NOT within the same target DB.
- Monitor RMAN and Netbackup logs daily to pick up problems proactively.
- Ensure sufficient tapes are available for the backups.
- Replace old tapes as soon as they start giving errors.
- Test backups frequently by performing test/mock restores.
Etc.

kal_youssef question which was asked to you, was to know that what type of problem you had generally faced while taking backup....
As per my experience...
Most of time i got error related to Media (MML)(i.e Tape), but what frank has said is also correct.
Regards
Sunilkumar

Dear kal_youssef,
As per my Experience 95% I got Error Msg regarding Media.
Some Problems are as follows-
Checking label on volume in device /dev/nmt0 failed
>> It happens when wrong Media Found inside Backup Drive( It may be that Internal Label is Diffnt from what expected)
Winding tape volume in device /dev/nmt0 failed
>> i.e. media is not inserted inside Tape drive or inserted media is corrupted.
(These are only manually fault,As per the technical Error,I never faced any technical issue during backup.)
Regards,
Ashish
