hello
i have oracle 10g on windows xp,
the database is runing in archivelog mode,
if i need to recover my database using a backup control file
it will be recovered till the time of failure -complete recovery-
or only till the time when the control file backup was token ?

If the online redo logs are available, then you will be able to recover up to the point of failure. However, if you actually recreate the controlfile, then you won't have to OPEN RESETLOGS. If you recover using a backup controlfile, then you'll have to OPEN RESETLOGS.

Either way, you'll be able to recover to point of failure.
