I was to apply a maintenance update to an application last night. The update failed and I had to roll back the database.

I had taken a full backup just prior to the update, but didn't notice until after I used RMAN to recover the database that the backup ran but didn't finish successfully because the backup volume was full.

So my Oracle DB is hosed. I think my regular backup from Friday failed as well because the volume was full.

I'm in a bad situation. Is there any way to do a point-in-time recover from the last good backup (maybe Thursday), and then replay ALL transactions until 11PM Saturday night?

HELP PLEASE!!

I should have all the archivelogs/redologs I need. I just need help getting this accomplished.

Thanks,
Matt

Yes, go for it. It will take some time to apply all the archived log files again, but at least you should be able to get the DB back on-line.

PS: I trust you've backed-up the database before you're first restore attempt.

I'm looking for some docs that will explain how to roll forward the archivelogs. Anyone?

Thanks,
Matt

Without having any specific details or insight into your current situation, you may want to following this roadmap for your recovery (Restore and Recovery Scenarios).

If you open the database normally (STARTUP), then you'll be precluded from rolling forward.
