Hi,

I am new to this forum. I am in the process of migrating to Oracle 10g database. I overheard that one can backup their database in 9i and recover in 10g as a method for migration.

Is this true? If it is, are there any special procedures?

Export data using the Oracle 9 EXPORT utility.
Import data using the Oracle 10 IMPORT utility.

Littlefoot,

I am backing up with RMAN on 9i. If I encounter a problem, can I recover (from RMAN backup) onto 10g datatbase platform?
