I have a Windows 2003 running SQL Server 2000. I want to create a linked server to access an Oracle database instance but I need to create a SQL*Net alias name on the server running SQL Server that points to the Oracle database and I do not know how to do it or what utility to use. I never used Oracle and this is the first time I need to work with it.
Can anybody help me with this task?
Thank you very much.

I use a database link on an Oracle database to look into other databases. If it would help I can send you code to create an Oracle database link.
