Hi,

I suddenly started getting this error message "Error

java.lang.Exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect ". on the dbconsole of my database. Any clue where to proceed or how to find whats causing this error.

Thanks,
Yash

Looks like it cannot connect to the DB. Any errors in your ALERET.LOG file?

Also, try to restart DBConsole to see if it will solve the problem.

No information in alert.log. But I checked out the emdctl.trc; and here is what I can in this file

2006-06-20 06:15:12 Thread-4524 ERROR main: nmectl.c: nmectl_validateTZRegion, agentTZoffset =0,and testTZoffset for +03:00:180 do not match
2006-06-20 06:15:31 Thread-5660 WARN http: snmehl_connect: connect failed to (mydbtest:3938): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

One thing which I can tell is this started coming after changing the timezone on the server from local to gmt.

Cheers,
Yash

Got the solution; you need to run "emctl resetTZ agent" if you have changed the timezone settings on the database server.
at the prompt type "emctl resetTZ agent " and restart dbconsole service.

cheers,
Yash

I suggest that you start with the Basics & 1st learn how to use GOOGLE before tackling something complicated like Oracle.

No need to be rude anacedent; this was a valid question.
Execute the command from the command line (not sqlplus). There may also be other commands to perform, which (if any) will be listed in the output after the command.
