Hi,
I know this is perhaps a dumb question. But since I do not know, i guess better to ask it and remove the ignorance...if one has to make a presentation (which is non commercial-which is for knowledge sharing with collegues/seniors in one's company) on an oracle topic , can one use a presentation available on the web for the same?
If one can, then unnecessary efforts for a week or so can be saved..or perhaps one has to draw a diagram for oracle architecture oneself? (since refering what is given in oracle docs also may not be allowed?)

Legally you may not copy other people's work - whether it's a paper, presentation, image, or what ever. By default everything written by you or anyone else is copyrighted. If you do copy other people's work, you or you company run the risk of getting sued.
Exceptions:
- You may quote other's work (small portions only)
- If the material is explicitly licensed as GPL or free, you may copy and use it as dictated by the license granted.

This reminds me of an incident about 2 years back. An Oracle employee sent me info to put on this site. I though it's fine since they work for Oracle. Not too long after that we've received a cease and desist letter from their legal department. Luckily they accepted our apologies and the content was immediately deleted.
As Frank said, there is no harm in asking. However, if you can, get it in writing!
