Dear All,
Can anyone explain or direct me to any data which describes how powerful the Oracle full text search engine is??

Also can i install Oracle Full text search on a separate server? If yes, how can I failsafe it??

please reply as this is urgent.

It you need white papers, check http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/text/index.html

I'm sure you can run it on a separate server. Just replicate the data to the second server where you run your text queries.
