We use CommVault Galaxy in combination with RMAN to hot
backup the Oracle database.

To recover and restore the database from de CommVault Galaxy
Comm Cell Console, now problem.

But what if the windows CUI is not working anymore?
Can I (then) still recover the database directly from
RMAN prompt?

Can someone tel me that?

You should be able to do it from the RMAN command line. However, you need to contact the CommVault Support team to confirm.

i agree, it must be possible to ude rman from command line, as long as the backup files are online
