Hello,
Following questions are pertaining to Oracle 9i Release 2 on Linux Environment.
Is it possible for anybody to give the guidelines for estimating the following parameters(in termes of %) :
pga_aggregate_target
db_cache_size
shared_pool_size
shared_pool_reserved_size
log_buffer
java_pool_size
sga_max_size
Also please suggest whether is it possible to change the sga_max_size? If yes, how to change it?
How to know what amount of memory is allocated to Oracle?
How do we use amount RAM for calculating some memory parameters?
Thanks in Advance,
Pratap

Dont allocate more than is available to Oracle or your server will be swapping. About 1M per sesion is needed. That really depends on how you set up the user.
I user target and max and it works well.
You need to know how much RAM your sever has and figure the percentage for youself.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
However, still question remains there!
