Asked for so many times(topics) here but nobody seems to have a solution for this. I just hope this time as I revive the topic someone can answer me.

I passed a parameter from forms to report as P_1, then I have field on report which is P_2. I want an LOV for P_2 that is based on P_1.
eg: Select name from mytable where id = P_1.
I tried a lexical type (&P_1) and :P_1 it's not allowed(error).

Thanks in advance!

As far as I can tell, it isn't possible - not in Reports Builder.

We have developed our own parameter form (using Forms Builder) which "acts" as a Reports parameter form. It means that you'd pass 'P_1' from your "original" form to a "parameter form" and use it in first List of Values item. The second List of Values item, in Forms, can "see" value written in the first one and restrict fetched data set to desired values.

Finally, pressing a "Run report" button on your "new" parameter form would, actually, pass "real" parameters to your report.

As far as I know, it's not possible in Discoverer neither.

However, in the newest Oracle BI tool (in full: Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, in short: OBI EE, product previously know as Siebel Analytics), this is possible.

But okay, that won't help you now, sorry!
