Dear Members

Im trying to connect to a sql server database using oracle reports 9i DS. The steps i do are as follows:

1. Go to ODBC and create a new system DSN for sql server
2. Ok then i run oracle report wizard and put in the connection to the database as JDBC Query and use the driver type as jdbc-odbc
3. I create the report and run it which is ok

The problem happens when i try to run the report on the web layout it gives me

REP-0069: Internal Error java.lang.NullPointerException:

I know this is a connection problem because when i go to file connect
There is no option to choose the odbc type.
Has anyone encountered this before? If so then please tell me how to overcome this issue.
Thank you in advance
regards
K.

Hello oracle buddies

Im glad to say that i solved the problem.
What you do is once you have created a report is save it in what ever format you desire i choose .jsp so i can publish it later.
Then yes if you try to run it again using the web layout youll get the error mentioned above.
So to resolve this issue all you do is just close report developer and just reopen it and choose:
1. Open existing reporting
2. run web layout

You will be prompted for the login information
Type everything in and voila it works.
regards

Kal
