What is the minimum system configuration needed to install 10g XE or other 10g editions at windows XP:

RAM = ?
HDD = ?
Processor (GHZ) ?

The OracleŽ Database Installation Guide can tell you exactly what the requirements are. For Oracle 10g R2 on Windows (32-bit) this is:
  • RAM: 256 MB minimum, 512 MB recommended
  • Virtual memory: Double the amount of RAM
  • Processor: 550 MHz minimum
  • Disk space: Basic Installation Type total: 2.04 GB, Advanced Installation Types total: 1.94 GB
  • Video adapter: 256 colors


Oracle Database for Windows is supported on the following operating systems:
  • Windows 2000 with service pack 1 or later. All editions, including Terminal Services and Microsoft Windows 2000 MultiLanguage Edition (MLE), are supported.
  • Windows Server 2003 - all editions
  • Windows XP Professional


Windows NT is not supported.

Windows Multilingual User Interface Pack is supported on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional.
