Oracle RDB driver unsupported on XP and 2003? [message #165583] Fri, 31 March 2006 00:14 Go to next message

Hi,

I have searched high and low and getting nowhere fast. I am trying to connect to an Oracle RDB database from Windows. I am using the lastest Oracle rdb 3103 driver, however I cannot connect, I keep getting the following error message -

[Oracle][ODBC][Rdb]%RDB-F-BAD_DB_HANDLE, invalid database handle

I have been able to successfully connect on a Windows 2000 server machine. I am using exactly the same attach string and settings. I have tried on XP and 2003 servers with no luck.

I have read all the documentation and they all reference support for NT/95/98/2000 but not XP or 2003 Server. Is this driver supported on XP or 2003 OS's?

If not, how do I get around this problem? What should I be looking at to try and fix this... it is killing me!

Cheers
Darcy

I have found that the 3103 RDB driver did resolve my issue. I just need to remove existing driver, remove all existing DSN entries and recreate using the new driver.

Cheers.
