Hi
My Oracle Database 10g Server release 2 is on Solaris 5.9(64 bit SPARC).I Installed Oracle 10g Client(10.2.0)on my Desktop PC (Windows XP Professional) and able to connect the above mentioned server.
Last day, I installed Oracle GRID Control(with a Database) on my same Windows(Desktop PC) machine for testing purpose and now when I am unable to connect my remote Oracle Server from my windows client machine , its throwing ,ORA-12154 "TNS:could not resolve service name" .When I was doing TNSPING on remote Database from my local machine, it is using the new sqlnet.ora file(GRID control) as the parameter file and it is not doing TNSPING.The error is "TNS-03505: Failed to resolve name".How can I force to use a perticular SQLNET.ORA file while connecting? Please help me out in this matter.
Thanks in advance,
Rajesh

Hi Thanks for the reply.
The service name is correct what I am giving.I used to connect 2 instances from the local machine. Both of them are not getting connected. The active sqlnet.ora file is the new one. TNSPING is not taking the old SQLNET.ORA file.
Please get me some solution!
Thanks in advance,
Rajesh
