We have an application written in VB6 running on a Win2K Pro server with SP4 and .NET 1.1 & .NET SP1 installed. Our DB server is a similar setup and is running Oracle 8.1.7. The application connects to the DB via an Oracle ODBC connection. This connection will sporadically drop and not reconnect after periods of inactivity and I have not found any reasons why. This article does provide some insight, however I'm still at a bit of a loss since we have the .NET 1.1 SP1 installed, it should rectify the issue.
