Hi,

i cannot start the oracle service after i change the server name, what steps i need to do in order to resume the service??

here is details:
Windows 2000 Server
Oracle 8i

Go to programme -> administrative tools -> services

select oracle services ( Listner ) and start it manually.

Login to SQL to see whether you are able to connect.

And check the hostname in your listener.ora and tnsnames.ora. It is possible that there's an invalid reference there.
