can any body tell be the functionlity of Oracle Discoverer.? how can it help us in reporting etc.

Discoverer is an ad hoc reporting tool It allows end users toquickly create reports without the need for knowledge of SQL. It utilizes a semantic layer called the End User Layer (EUL) to map items (in Discoverer) to Columns in the source data. When items are selected for reporting upon, Discoverer will generate the appropriate sql, when the report is run, that sql is fired off to the database, the data is then returned to the application as a 'resultsbase' cube od data allowing the reporter to pivot and analyze the data as required.
