I'm getting files with names like:
core_orcl_pid_1492_tid_x5E0_2006_3_3_8_31_4.log
showing up in folder:
C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database
on my pc test database. db_1 above marks the oracle_home, 10.2.0 marks the oracle_base.
The database file on windows is where files like init.ora and spfile.ora, and the password file reside.
My core_dump_dest parameter is set to:
MYDBA > show parameter core_dump_dest
NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
core_dump_dest string C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ADMIN
\ORCL\CDUMP
MYDBA >
My question is, does anyone know why these files are showing up where they are, and do they have anything to do with the core dump dest, or is that a unix only thing?
I'm not seeing anything in the 10gR2 platform guide for windows, but of course would be happy to reference any oracle documentation if someone can point me in the right location.
