Hi,

I downloaded Jdeveloper 10g Release 3(Studio). I want to install it on my stand alone PC. But I have already installed Oracle Applications (11.5.7) in it. It has a database 8i. Can I install Jdeveloper on it. Will it disturb the existing software (apps) in anyway. Please let me know. I dont want to disturb my ERP, and I want to install Jdev.

Kindly give me your suggestions.

Thanx

Raji

In my experience, JDeveloper can be installed in totally stand-alone mode on your desktop, it will not bother other components installed on your machine. Especially not a database. You can have any database you want -- or none, it doesn't care.

The major comparibility issues with the new version JDeveloper 10.1.3 are with what versions of Oracle Application Server it will allow you to deploy your applications to.
