Getting an error, "ORA-12638 Credential Retrieval Failed", while trying to login to Oracle DB using SQLPLUSW (Oracle Client for Windows).

NOTE: The Database Server is also running on Windows.

Oracle KB says to enable tracing.

Please help me on this. How should I enable tracing ?

Any other troubleshooting steps to be done, apart from enabling tracing ?

Thank you.

What is KB?
Check your sqlnet.ora in servside.
COmment of all entries and try again ( If you are not using them. Else post those entries).

Thanks Mahesh. The problem is solved. Changed SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES in SQLNET.ORA file to none and that did the trick.

Anyway, thanks again for the help.

No.
In conventional wisdom, KB means 'KiloByte'. Ofcourse the context in which it was posted couldnt make any sense ( oracle KiloByte!).
Knowledge Base is something you have framed yourself.
