Hi,

While connecting to server unable to open getting error ORA-12638

ERROR
ORA-12638: Credential retrival Failed

One more:

PLB is present in the folder and sql script is converted into PLB how to call the script for both the things need help.

Pls do the needful

Hi,

Enable SQL*Net tracing:

12638, 00000, "Credential retrieval failed"
// *Cause:  The authentication service failed to retrieve the credentials of a
//          user.
// *Action: Enable tracing to determine the exact error.

Credential Retrieval failed ORA-12638 occured while trying to connect remote database through publlic database link.
We are able to connect the remote database through tnsname that is created for the same dblink but through dblink above error is shown.
If the AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NONE) IS SET THEN THE CONNECTION IS OK. WHAT WOULD BE THE PROBLEM IF THE PARAMETER FOR THE AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NONE) IS SET.
PLESE SUGGEST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
