Hi,
I've been browsing the 10g documents but haven't found what I'm looking for. Will keep looking but hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.
We have Oracle 10g for AIX running. The DBCA installed Oracle Text by default. Our vendor says Full Text search is not working. In older versions of Oracle 8i for Windows there is a \bin\ctxsrv.exe that needs to start up. My question is how is this done in 10g for Unix?
Thx
Brian

Hi,
8.0 (ConText Server) you had to start that. It is now truly part of the db. You will have a schema called CTXSYS where all of the objects are stored.
Please expand on the "Full Text is not working" statement.

Ron

Hi Ron,
Turns out I was going in circles with our vendor. They have not even used 10g. And the ctxsrv was deprecated in 2002. Now we can use either a particular package to sync or just add a sync clase to to our create index statement.
