WMS/MSCA - Barcoded hot keys
For anyone using WMS or MSCA:
Have any of you had success in creating barcodes for the mobile page hot keys (e.g. ESC-L, F1, CTRL-K)? If so, could you pass on some information on how you accomplished this. We are using Teklogix hardware with un-decoded PSC scanners. Using Oracle Apps 11.5.9 and Linux OS 3. Loftware 8.1 to generate and print the barcode in code 39. Terminals are set to read code 39 Full ASCII.
When I scan now it only inputs the value of the barcode but does not preform the special function. Any help is greatly appericiated.
Thanks
Earl

Hi David,
Thanks for the reply, I have done a search on all forums. I was not able to find if any one else has been able to get the F1 or other special function key combinations to work as a barcode. I am told (by hardware tech support) that someone out is doing this but they could not supply a contact.

I found an area on the terminal called a translation table. In that area, I am able to tell the terminal to look for a specific bar code coming in and send a key function out. This has given me limited success. I had to turn off the suffix function for the symbology I am using. Thanks for the link as it helps point me in the right direction.
