Hi ,
I have a test X-86 machine and i have installed Solaris 10 (X-86) on that machine.
Now when i tried to install Oracle 9i on that machine it gave me the following error.
runInstaller : cannot execute.
I have already set the variables as mentioned in the docs
Quote: | SEMMNI 100 ***
SEMMNS 1024 **
SEMMSL 256 ***
SHMMAX 4294967295
SHMMIN 1 *
SHMMNI 100***
SHMSEG 10 *
NOEXEC_USER_STACK 1 *
* obsolete in Solaris 9 and 10
** obsolete in Solaris 10
*** default value in Solaris 10 is already larger

Now when i searched then found this on my machine
# file install/solaris/runInstaller
install/solaris/runInstaller: ELF 32-bit MSB executable SPARC Version 1, dynamically linked, not stripped
# file /sbin/init
/sbin/init: ELF 32-bit LSB executable 80386 Version 1, dynamically linked, stripped
I am afraid , whether it is possible to install Oracle 9i on Solaris 10 (X-86 ).
[Edit : one more doubt, i downloaded 64-bit Oracle as the file name suggests solaris64_9.2.0.1.0.Disk1.cpio then why the above command shows it as 32-bit ]
Thanks & regards,
tarun
