AS i feel ,its more of a networking issue rather than a database one.

If your laptop is on the network then you can connect it to the database as you connected other windows machines.

--> Install oracle client on the laptop.
--> Create net service listening to the database
--> connect through that service.

Does that mean, you are in a wireless network?
can you ping the the server?
if so, all you need to do is install client, edit tnsanmes.ora.

Hi ,

How come you will connect without a network connectivity?

You need to have that Laptop on the network to make connection with the server.

May be he is talking about wireless network.
We use them in our training rooms (database/application server/portal). Needs to be configured the same way as a regular server and works as usual.
