Hi Gurus,

We use Veritas Netbackup 5.0 to backup Oracle Databases using RMAN. The backup is successfull in Netbackup.
But when we use RMAN commands to verify the image, it says it is EXPIRED.
Here is the output.

RMAN> CROSSCHECK BACKUP OF DATABASE

crosschecked backup piece: found to be 'EXPIRED'

backup piece handle=HOT_ORAP_T20051108_s162_p1 recid=116 stamp=573829995

But the same image is available in Netbackup.
Also this image is the latest image, RMAN reports the old images as available.

Pls. help me.

It seems as if the tape that you did the backup on is missing. Make sure you have the correct tape inserted. When the correct tape with the latest backup is insert and you run the command again, "CROSSCHECK BACKUP OF DATABASE", RMAN will show that the backup as being AVAILABLE. If you have the correct tape inserted and you are getting the same problem then there is a possibility that the backup has been overwritten.
