Why do you want to do that?
I am just a dba.
I have little understanding on Java/JDBC.
JDBC is an a facility for JAVA to talk to databases.
Using JDBC you can talk to databases. NOT to the OS tools/applications.
Using regular JAVA api to execute OS commands, you may do what you want.
But, what is the whole point?
