Hi all,

after fiddling around for some 5 hours or so, I´ll pass the question to you, who (hopefully) have the experience to solve my problem. I´m a PL/SQL (and some forms) developer, but I never set up an application server (or even a forms developer client) before.

I´ve got a PC with a (working) database and wanted to install the Oracle developer suite 10g on it - well, setup went through, I can use Forms developer - but I cannot start any form. Internet Explorer says "Page not found" (the error message appears in german, so perhaps thats not the exact message in english).

I started an OC4J instance before running the form.

I set the application server URL in preferences/runtime to the local ip and port.

I enabled the execution of active "matters" (I know thats the wrong translation, but I dont have an english windows available) in IE.

Internet Explorer opens when running the form out of Forms Developer, so I don´t think its a matter of the listener?!

The URL pasted into the Browser by Forms Developer looks weird:

http://%%20c:/DOKUME~1/Gerd/LOKALE~1/Temp/s17c.htm

-whereas [DOKUME~1/Gerd/LOKALE~1/] stands for my personal folder in windows (Gerd is my username). BUT there is NO Temp folder in it, nor is there a file named "s17c.htm" (nowhere on disk).

Besides, I´m just trying to run the test.fmb form.

Any help is much appreciated - if you can give some hints what to check, where to look after, what to do - please do so, I don´t know what´s going wrong. If you need some more details, please let me know. Feel free to send me a mail, too.

Thanks in advance,

Gerd

Also make sure that both the Forms and Database homes have matching TNSNAMES.ORA files. Search this forum for 'tnsnames.ora'. Did you install the Forms Server then Reports Server or the Reports Server then Forms Server?? If you did it the first way, then reinstall your Forms as you need to install the Reports FIRST. (The Reports script is deficient and 'eats' the Forms settings.)
