Hello,

I am new user for oracle 9i forms builder running in Windows environment and have a problem running a form. The error message I get is:

FRM-10142 : The HTTP Listener is not running on SUFYAN port 8889. Please start the listner or check your runtime preferences.

I have already taken ff steps to try and solve this, but have been unsuccessful:

1. Checked the runtime preferences on the forms builder/edit.This appears to be set correctly as
'http://SUFYAN:8889/forms/frmservlet
2. Started the OC4J Instance from the developer suite/forms developer menus.
3. Used option 'Run a form from the web' from the forms developer menu - FAILED
4. Entered the URL in the web browser
http://SUFYAN:8889/j2ee - FAILED
http://SUFYAN:8889/forms/frmservlet - FAILED
http://127.0.0.1:8889/j2ee - FAILED
5. Repeated steps 1-4 for ports 8888 and 8890 failed

I was wondering if you guys have any idea where I am going wrong?

Thank you for your email.

I check the hostname and it is 127.0.0.1

Does this mean I use this instead of sufyan?

But in web browser if I type
http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet it fails..
