Hello, I cannot startup a newly created 10gR2.
I use the same scripts that perfectly worked on 10gR1.
(Solaris 10)

At database open time I get:
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced

In the used dump directory there is this message:
ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure
ORA-39700: database must be opened with UPGRADE option

This is the whole dump file:

From the documentation:

Quote:

ORA-39700: database must be opened with UPGRADE option
Cause: A normal database open was attempted, but the database has not been upgraded to the current server version.
Action: Use the UPGRADE option when opening the database to run catupgrd.sql (for database upgrade), or to run catalog.sql and catproc.sql (after initial database creation).

Check out tahiti.oracle.com for the docs.

Hello,
you missed the point.
I created the database with the newly installed 10gR2 software, using the same scripts that I used for 10gR1 installation.

Therefore I MUST NOT NEED to run any upgrade script.
