I'm new Oracle user.
I have a question:
I turn on listner and I connect to the db. What's happen if listner ,accidentally, turn off? Get down also db connection??

thanks.

Database will be still available.
But,No client connection can talk to the database using the connectstring.
If you are logged in directly in the server
and have set your ORACLE_SID in environment,
you can just talk to it.
sqlplus scott/tiger #will not use listener
sqlplus scott/tiger@mydb #will use a listener.
