whenever i am calling reports from from the report background engine is not shutting down automatically
can anyone tell me how to close report background engine after the report is finished

keep ORACLE_SHUTDOWN=YES as a parameter while calling the report.

Hi sarfraz,

use this:
Add_Parameter(pl_id,'ORACLE_SHUTDOWN',TEXT_PARAMETER,'Yes');

The values "Yes" is case sensitive !

I use the parameter
Add_Parameter(pl_id,'ORACLE_SHUTDOWN',TEXT_PARAMETER,'Yes');
with Report 6i.

If you have problems past the calling funktion here.
We can have a look how you call the Report.
Besides tell us the Reports Version you are using.
