HI ,

Iam facing this problem from last 2 days but still i could not resolve the problem.

Iam able to connect to my database using userid and password.
If I use host string it was not connecting and even from the remote system.Iam sure that listener.ora file and tnsnames.ora file are correct.when iam trying to connect to oracle from pl/sql Iam getting this message.
TNS-12541 :No Listner
TNS-12560 : TNS PROTOCOL ADAPTER ERROR

THE BELOW 2 ERRORS CAM WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT THROUGH COMMAND PROMPT
TNS--00511 NO LISTNER
32 BIT WINDOWS ERROR 61:UNKNOWN ERROR

WHEN I went to services and check I find that Oracle service is running and listner service is not running.when I try to start Iam getting this error message.

Could not start the oracle orahome 81TNSlistnertracit service on local computer.
The service did not return an error. This could be an internal windows error or an internal service error. If the problem Persist Contact your system administrator.

Bye
Sri

Hi Sri,

Than it may be possible that the listener.ora is misconfigured.
Most times it is because tome brackets are missing or to much.

It could help to post the listener.ora so we could see and tell you if there's something.

Sorry sorry sorry and sorry Sad

I've discovered that an external company have modified listener.ora and tnsnames.ora Sad

I've commented out new row, and now all works properly again.

Thanks for your reply and sorry again
