I have a Windows XP machine with Oracle 9i installed on it. I created the database manually after installing 9i.
Now the problem is that whenver i start my server i need to start the database manually. How to make it start automatically.
The Oracle service is in automatic mode n gets started the moment machine is up.
suggestions appreciated.

Regards ,
tarun

HI

You need to edit the oracle service specific parameters in system registry.

Goto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\HOME0
Check for value for entry
ORA_<SID>_AUTOSTART.

Modify the entry & put the value as TRUE.

HI

A shot in dark... are you using Password file authentication or OS authentication?

Hi

For a change, try using OS authentication...

Lets hope for the best...
