Hi All,

on statspack report, we see the file I/O stats which gives info about the tablespace, datafiles with reads and writes per second. Also we have some info there aobut the buffer waits and avg.buffer waits for each data file. What the buffer waits exactly mean. Is it same as free buffer waits? If we have different datafiles with different buffer waits, does high buffer waits translate to poor performance as that particular data file has been swapped. How to reduce the buffer waits particularly.

thanks.
