Hi All ,

I am using Oracle 8i database and getting 100% full temporary tablespace (temp) which is of 900mb. My database contain table with atmost 283 columns max in one table with 600000 records, when i create a temp table and use in our appllication. i takes a lot of time to complete the procedure. What should i do. my Sga size is 550 mb. can increase the size of temp tablespace help?

Hi

Showing temp space 100% full is not problem, so long its not giving any error message to you or you are facing serious performance issues. In those cases, you may consider increasing it.

When you create a temporary table it will be stored in the temporary tablespace. Is the large table you are talking about a temporary table?
