Hi, just a new oracle user looking for a little help here. Please excuse my inexperience.
I am on a network running an Oracle 8i service called "CMSP". I want to be able to connect to cmsp from my workstation and be able to interface with the oracle database using microsoft access. I'm not sure how to set up the settings in the ODBC Administrator so that I can connect to the "readonlyORACLE" connection that the Access program requires. If I'm being unclear, please inquire further.
I guess my question is: is there a way for me to get 8i ODBC drivers so that I can connect to this service without installing the entire oracle program?

Maybe I'm just comletely misguided but do I need to install Oracle software onto my PC in order to access the service from Access? I was hoping I could just install some ODBC drivers and go. The service is already being hosted by a server on my network named CMSP.
Is that clearer?
