I have tried to use Oracle Streams with Oracle Generic Connectivity for replicating data from an Oracle10g database to a Mysql 4.1.9 database.

The apply process is aborted with this error message:
ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P003
ORA-28584: heterogeneous apply internal error
ORA-28584: heterogeneous apply internal error
ORA-02063: preceding line from RCC1

Is not possible the use of these two mechanisms together?

Hi,

Have you successfully implemented this replication?
How is the performance and reliability?

Thanks,
Heloisa.

No Sad

I received the following response from Oracle:

According to the 10g Streams Concepts and Administration Manual
Overview of Heterogeneous Information Sharing

Streams needs to have an Oracle Transparent Gateway for the
Oracle to Non-Oracle Heterogeneous Data Sharing

For Heterogeneous Apply we support:
SQLServer
SYBASE
DB2
IBM DRDA

All of these have Transparent Gateway available.

But MySQL does not use Transparent Gateway.
It uses HSODBC and 3rd party ODBC Driver.

bye,
Laura
