Hello,

One thing Oracle could provide is a proper installation tool for the wonderful JDeveloper software because what can be download does not include anything.

It's a ZIP. The easies install there is. Unzip it and run it.
What is missing? You have a Java IDE just like Eclipse...

Ok, perhaps you'll need to tweak your classpath, but that's no big deal...
