Hi,

This looks like a password problem (setDbUserPassword):

You may have entered an incorrect password for the OS or SYS; or saved incorrect OS or SYS passwords as your Preferred Credentials. Try to reenter your OS and SYS credentials and try stating the database again.

As a last resort, you may also want to reconfigure DBControl for your database by running emca (in ORACLE_HOME/bin).

Best regards.

Hi Frank,
Thanks a lot for your response.I extremely appreciate this you were the only one who replied after so many postings.I couldn't fix the problem through password or emca. However, I got this message below whilst I scheduled a backup through ENTERPRISE MANAGER.
OUTPUT LOG:The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
Unable to perform the backup because the database status cannot be determined
.
Do you have any suggestions about what I should do to fix this?
I am at a loss as to where to start to troubleshoot this error.
Thanks for your time.

Hi,

I wouldn't know where to start myself. Maybe try to download FILEMON (freeware utility) from http://www.sysinternals.com/ and see if you can identify the blocking processes.

Best regards.

I don't think that answering a message that is 2.5 years old is a good introduction.

Rest dead topics in peace.
