HI All,
I am facing error message: rep-1814 report cannot be formatted onject "vertically" can nver fir within the _49 Error in a specific Computer alone when i run a report. When i run the report in any other PC its working fine. Help me out what can be possible reason. I am yet to reinstall the Developer 2000 S/W.

REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object '<object name>' can never fit within '<location>'.Cause:
The referenced object is causing the most recently formatted page to start with exactly the same state as the page previous . Formatting will therefore cycle until abnormally terminated. Possible causes of this error include:

Case 1: An object whose Print Condition type is All overflows to the next page;

Case 2: An object whose sizing is Variable or Expand does not appear to extend beyond page boundaries in the Paper Layout editor but does when the report is formatted;

Case 3: A repeating frame does not appear to extend beyond page boundaries in the Paper Layout editor but does when the report is formatted.

Action:

Using the referenced object as a guide, examine your report layout for objects that may extend beyond page boundaries. Note: The object referenced in the message is the object that extends beyond the boundary. This object may be pushed beyond the boundary by another object, and this second object may need modification.

Hi all,
Actually my case is different. When i try to run my report in SRS window with American English it is working fine. But when i changed to Germany as laguage settings it is not working. What to do with that.

iam getting same error.

i have 2 fields. fieldA
fieldB

fieldA is 2000 characters string. hence its occupying full first page, and fieldB is not able to print. hence iam getting that error.

when i run the report from a form iam getting error: TERMINATED_WITH_ERROR.

also

REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'F_CF_DESC'.

i know why iam getting error. but dont know how to fix it.

how to make fieldB print on next page when the first page is occupied by fieldA ??

What are vertical elasticity properties of those fields and their frames set to? "Variable" (or "Expand") might help.

vertical elasticity for fieldA is expand
vertical elasticity for fieldB is expand

vertical elasticity for frame of fieldA is variable. even though i change it to expand its not working.

set the repetitive frame property (print object on ) to first page instead of all pages

Hi,
After long time i came back to the same post. I got the same issue again but in a different way.
Issue: rep-1814 report cannot be formatted. object "vertically" can never fit within F_abc.

my report is working fine when i run from Report builder. But i am getting the above error when i run the report in the batch process. We submit the batch process through oracle forms.

It makes no sense to me as to how the report runs fine in report builder and how the field or layout is messed up when i run as batch process? how the layout is changed in the batch process? This is the strange issue i got.

Can anyone help me?

Did you run it with different parameters, perhaps? The ones which select different data and cause such an error?

Issue is resolved. We had to reboot the report server. Don't know how does it effect but it solved.
