Hi All.
We are in the process of migration from RMS seq/indexed files to Oracle RDBMS 9i.
I'm not that good with RMS, but question would be:

how to create table/s to simulate VARIANT RECORD file?

I mean, do we have to normalize ONE VARIANT RECORD file and create several tables to hold all data from that file?
Let me know if question is clear or not.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Best regards.

Hi,

If the source data type varies then you are probably left with using an Oracle varchar2 to hold the data.

kind regards
