Hi all,

I would like to increase height and width of canvases for 200 odd forms in 6i web application on Solaris.

Does/has anybody know/done this in a batch environment? Pl. Advise.

Thanks

How about converting them to FMT files and working on them?

Alternatively, copy the FMB files to windows and in the FAQ area for 'Forms', under 'Where can one get more info about Oracle Forms?' there is a reference to 'FormsAPI Master'. This has the capability to do that which you asked (but only in a Windows environment).

Thanks for immidiate reply.

Forms API sounds better way than .fmt. fmt is encrypted and no good like forms' earliar versions to be able to use editor fuintions.

cheers

I know that you can't 'read' the PL/SQL in 'clear' but I thought you may be able to work out the canvas object number and I thought the numbers were in 'clear'.

Yes mate, numbers are clear but not of all properties and hard to find exact candidates for modifications.

FormsAPI Master is probably the way to go. FormsTool is an extremely good and modestly priced comparison (and analysis) tool.

I have used it for a few years and they are _very_ receptive to user suggestions concerning how the tool can be improved, and their user forum is extremely useful and promptly answered. [No, I don't work for them.]

I start looking at the JDAPI (Java Design-time API) when I read this. It comes with your Forms installation (Official from 9i, but even 6i has them on board).

It only requires some Java knowledge.

It's worth a look, but a little more work than an out-of-the-box solution.
