Error in CICS attach : CIC-00024E for ORA0 failed. Oracle error code 12545 (I can connect to this remote unix db server using sqlplus). Any hints ?

Are you still having problems. If you want to mail me a copy of your thread table, TNSNAMES entry and the JCL used to assemble this I'll have a look.
Its sometimes worth looking at the load module you generate to ensure that the eyecatcher showing the ip address looks good.
