It has been suggested that we should configure some of the disks used by our Oracle databases as 3390 model 9's rather than as 3390 model 3's. This gives them three times the capacity. Has anyone done any benchmarking in this area to see if there is any performance degredation with the larger disks.

: Per Metalink (docid: 23216.997, Oracle is transparent to the selection of the 3390 models. However, in the appendix B of the Aministration manual (Operating System Dependenet Variables section), there is a mention of limitation of file size imposed by the type of the disk models.
