Hi Guru,
I am from Unix background, very new to OS/390.
Regarding OS/390 OS read / write block size :
- what is the default read / write block size?
- is this configurable / user defineable?
- what is the prefer block size to host Oracle 8.1.7?
Any clue or reference (URL etc) would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers. KokHwa.

In 8.1.7 the only blocksize that is allowed is 4K. When Oracle9i comes
out that will change.

Hi Jim Gillespie,
Sorry for my unclear question.
My block size question is with regards to OS rather then Oracle db_block_size.
For Example in Unix, OS read / write block size is always 512 bytes. I believe it is fix and NOT configurable.
Thanks in advance.
