I have a two node 10g Standard Edition cluster and because it's "Standard" edition, I'm forced to use ASM if I want support. I am creating numerous large (20Gb) datafiles and the creation time is REALLY slow. It takes about 7 hours to create a single datafile of this size. It only takes about 20 min on an OCFS partition. I have bug filed with Oracle but it seems to be stuck in development. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

My config is:
(2) HP DL360 servers, each with a single 3.2Ghz CPU, 4Gb ram, Qlogic Fibre-Channel HBA connected to 3Tb of IBM FasT SAN disk.

Thanks.
