Dec 03 - Jan 04 Client Dresser Inc. (Through Bearing Point)
Designed Benefits Outbound interfaces (Eligibility Interfaces) for Dresser as a part of implementing Oracle Applications 11i. Designed the system extracts for the interfaces by specifying the data file layout (Record layout) and also specifying other information like Extract Criteria and Advanced Conditions. Both types of extracts Full feed and Changes only extracts were designed for the interfaces. Developed a means of loading the system extracts to be created in the application into the system. Used FNDLOAD as well as API’s for doing this. Specified the layout of the api’s for loading the attributes of the system extract. The api’s used were to load the Data Elements, Records and File layouts. The api’s were also called to load the extract criteria and extract definitions. Wrote PL/SQL packages that utilized these api’s to load the extract definitions into the database. These packages called the api’s with the appropriate parameters for loading the extracts into the database.

Designed the Conversion process for converting the Element Deductions and W4 tax information from the legacy system to the Oracle Applications 11i. Specified the api’s to use and the mapping of the parameters to the api to the staging table for doing the conversion. Designed the staging table and the error table for doing the conversion. Both positive and negative deductions of the employees were sent to the Vendors for them to administer the benefits. Written packages that will capture change events through triggers on database tables. These change events were custom and needed to capture changes in the columns of the tables.

Developed the BEE Zone application that can be used for uploading the element entries that is available as a flat file. Developed the form for setting up the interface. The setup can be done for the header, trailer and detail record for the interface flat file. Also developed the concurrent program that uses the set up of the interface flat file and loads the data into the Batch Element Entry module. Various element entries for various employees could be loaded into the BEE for ultimately entering into the element entries table. These information could be loaded into the BEE from a flat file with a pre-designed format. Designed the interface database staging tables in which the flat file information is loaded. Developed the concurrent program which calls a PL/SQL package. This package has the code that will load the flat file data into the batch headers and batch lines of the BEE. The package has the code that will verify the header and trailer information and then load the data into the tables.

Developed the Projects to Payroll interface that is used for transferring the time entered in the projects application and transfers that to the BEE. This interface transfers the captured time to the BEE through a registered concurrent process. Different types of tasks like Vacation Pay, Jury Duty, Pager Pay etc can be handled by the interface. Different kinds of time of the employees of the business group could be loaded through projects and these entries were extracted into BEE for loading the absence and the time entries into the absence form and the element entries forms and tables respectively. Designed the database staging tables in which the projects information is loaded. Developed the concurrent request that calls a PL/SQL package. The package then extracts the time captured in the Projects tables and then inserts into the BEE tables. These batches when loaded will create the element entries and the absence entries.

Developed the United Healthcare Interface that provides the Deduction information to United Healthcare (Vendor) for all the Oracle Employees with Healthcare and Dependent care Deductions in each payroll period. This information will be used by United Healthcare for reimbursing the employees of their Healthcare expenses. Designed the database staging tables in which the deduction information is loaded and from which the data of the interface is queried. Developed the PL/SQL package that gets the UHC deductions for all employees who have the deduction by using balance calls. These deduction information is sent to the output file through utl file utility and this file is sent to the vendor who pays the employees the claims.

Developed the Oracle Time and Labor web report. This is an application that is launched from Oracle self service that displays information about the employee’s time information that they entered through the Oracle Time and Labor. It displays the time information for all employees for a particular manager. The user selects an employee under him and provides the time range for which the report has to be run and the report displays the time information entered. The vacation time for all the employees themselves or the employees under a manager could be got from the web report. The vacation accrual and the carry over from the previous year can also be got from the report. Developed the PL/SQL package that will display the web template from which the user runs the report. Once the report is run the package will get the data from the database and send it to the web page which will display the data.

Developed the Contractors Data Mart is a web application that is launched from Oracle self service which is used to maintain information about people who are Contracting at Oracle. This application provides facilities to search the contractors database for obtaining information about them or to enter information about new contractors. This information is used by security to view the contractors information. This application is used by Oracle Security for maintaining information about contractors. Designed the database tables in which the contractors information is stored. Developed the PL/SQL package which will display the screens that are used in the Contractors Data Mart. The package when called will display the search screen through which the contractors information can be searched. The package also allows the user to insert a new record or update the existing record for the contractors concerned.

The Global reports are a set of reports that provide different kinds of information including compensation information to users about employees of Oracle. Other reports developed provide the above information for new hires in a given period and terminations in a given period. This information is used by Corporate Compensation within Oracle for analytical purposes. Written the SQL Plus scripts that will fetch the data from the database in the reports.

Also written packages that will allow the modification of the data and approval of the modifications by managers through the module screens.

Fine tuned the payroll process with development to make sure the payroll process that calculates the earnings, supplemental earnings, deductions and the taxes in less time. Worked with Oracle Development by providing tkprof and trace files to them on the process so that they can identify the queries that slowed the process. The fine tuned process now runs in 5 hours for all the employees in Oracle US.
